For several years now the August Meeting of Winteringham W.I. has taken the form of a Treasure Hunt. This year the lady organising the event had decided that instead of travel around the area in cars the ladies would follow the clues on foot around the village.
Unfortunately the weather on the day of the meeting was torrential showers but the intrepid ladies decided to carry on and not let the rain spoil their enjoyment. Fortunately whilst the ladies were out and about the rain was not too heavy and they were able to follow the clues set by Mrs Carol Smith.
Eventually they all arrived back in the Village Hall and were able to dry out and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst taking part in a quiz to identify the photographs of famous people.
Whilst all of this was going on Mrs Carol Smith and Mrs Enid Carter had prepared a delicious supper for the ladies to enjoy.
Carol’s work was still not finished as she had to mark the ladies’ papers and the winners were declared. Prizes were presented to Mrs Sandra Wilkinson and Mrs Val Hayton.
