The President, Mrs Jackie Bateman, welcomed 17 members to the meeting. The
apologies received were recorded. The Secretary then read through the minutes of the November Meeting and everyone agreed that these were a true record. She thanked everyone for the cards, flowers and gifts received following her stay in hospital.

Matters arising were swiftly dealt with and the correspondence received read tot eh members. The Shopping Trip to York had been a very successful outing and the President thanked Mrs Sandra Wilkinson for sorting out names and collecting in the fares.
The Annual dinner at the Sheffield Arms had been a pleasant night, enjoyed by all who attended.

The December issue of the Federation News was perused. Members were told of the sudden death of the National Chairman, Barbara Gill. The date of the Spring Council Meeting was noted as several members expressed an interest in attending and used postage stamps will be collected and sent to Federation Office.

The Christmas meeting of the Trent Group at St. Marks Church had been greatly enjoyed by those who attended.

The Treasurer reminded members that subs are due in January .

Programmes for the meetings in 2006 were handed out. Members were reminded that The Silk Scarf Printing Day School will place in the Village Hall on Saturday 1st April.

In the Village News Slot members were told that on Sunday 18th December the church will be holding a Christmas Service at 6pm. On the same day the chapel has a family service at 10.30 am when members of the Sunday School will perform their Nativity Play. On Christmas Day there will be a short service in the chapel at 9am.

The Christmas Event in the Hall on Wednesday 14th December had raised £140 for Village Hall funds.

The demonstrator for the evening was Mrs Yvonne Ogg. She had kindly agreed to come along and help the ladies to produce their own piece of Craft Work. She explained that everyone would be creating their own Christmas Tree decoration. These were very decorative and yet relatively simple. Yvonne had obviously spent a great deal of time at home preparing the material, card etc and she carefully explained to everyone how to put these together to make a very a attractive decoration.

Yvonne was thanked by the president. Jackie said that the members looked forward to these visits from Yvonne and said that it was amazing how each time she found something different for members to create.
 
The Hostesses, Annie Armstrong and Carol Smith served coffee and tea along with mince pies. The Mystery Parcels donated by Annie and Carol were won by Josie Ogg and Mary Nuttell.

The competition for a Christmas Cake Decoration was judged by Yvonne:
1st Christine Hammond, 2nd Barbara Button and 3rd Josie Ogg.

The next meeting in the Hall is on 19th January 2006.  Iona Richardson will talk about her Life as a Female Lorry Driver. The competition is ’An Unusual Key Ring’.


The meeting ended with the President wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous 2006.
