The speaker at the February meeting of Winteringham W.I. was Lynne Atkins who spoke about Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The members enjoyed hearing about the training of these dogs and were amazed to find out the ways in which a trained dog can work with a hearing impaired person to make a huge difference in their life. A deaf person can regain their independence and confidence when one of these dogs come into their home.

The previous day members had enjoyed a walk around Scawby and lunch at the Sutton Arms. The next outing will be a visit to the Plowright Theatre to see ’My Favourite Summer’, a Hull Truck presentation.

The Federation’s Annual Council Meeting will be held in the Memorial Hall at Cleethorpes on 21st April 07. A number of members expressed a wish to attend.

The next meeting in the Hall will be the Annual Meeting of Winteringham W. I. on 15th March. After the business is completed, members will be able to have a go at making their own greeting cards under the guidance of Jackie and Heather Bateman. The competition is for the prettiest mug.
