Winteringham W.I. May 2007
At the May meeting of Winteringham W.I., the president, Mrs Chris Wood welcomed 24 members and three guests.
Seven members had attended the Annual Council Meeting and they reported that it was a really good meeting with interesting speakers. Chris Wood explained about the envelopes for unwanted jewellery and the delegate, Christine Hammond to give a brief report on the meeting.
Those members who had gone on the walk around Epworth in April had enjoyed the afternoon and the tea at the Garden Centre had been delicious.
The Spring Meeting of the Trent Group had been on Tuesday 15th May. The members had attended reported that it had been an excellent meeting. The Elderberries choir had been very entertaining with a good varied programme.
The Secretary read through the correspondence received and the Federation News was perused.
The President then introduced the speaker whose talk was on the Life of Edward & Mrs Simpson. She was an excellent speaker who really knew her subject and was able to ‘put it over’ with accuracy and humour.
Val Lancaster gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the members.

Members were reminded that the next meeting is the Outing to Burnby Hall on 21st June.
